Rakel Helmsdal\u2019s new novel has been published. The title is Dreyms\u00f3tt<\/em> (Dream Death), and it is a story about the Faroe Islands in a dystopian future, which none of us want to experience, but which nevertheless does not feel completely incredible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The year is 2036 and after several pandemics the goverment has completely isolated the Faroe Islands from the outside world in the name of protecting the people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\nNow there is a vague streak of light in the east.
\u201cCome, we have to walk faster,\u201d Agnas says suddenly. \u201cIf we don\u2019t get past the mountain before daybreak, the surveillance cameras will definitely notice us.\u201d
We go faster. There is no time to enjoy the moment, just to walk as fast as we can. It is easier and easier to to see, where we\u2019re treading. Too easy. It\u2019s terrible, that the sun is our enemy.<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
