3D myndir / 3D art

Fyri jól í 2014 fór eg at gera 3víddar myndir, sum eg kalli Dreymrúm ella Tableux vivants, smáir heldur surealistiskir pallar, har áskoðarin sjálvur kann ímynda sær, hvør søgan er. Á Ólavsøkuframsýningunum í 2015 og 2018 eru myndir hjá mær sloppnar gjøgnum nálareygað og í apríl 2016 hevði eg framsýning í Dansistovuni í Norðurlandahúsinum.

Around the end of 2014 I undertook the making of 3-dimensional art works which I call Dreymrúm (Dream rooms) or Tableaux vivants. These are small and quite surrealistic tableaus where the viewer/audience may imagine for themselves what the story is. Two of these works have been admitted to the censored exhibition Ólavsøku exhibition (2015 and 2018). In April 2016 I held a solo exhibition in Dansistovan in Norðurlandahúsið, Tórshavn.

Tableaux vivant er eitt slag av performance list, sum serliga nýtt í 1800-talinum, fram til livandi myndir á filmi gjørdust vanligar. Tableaux vivant hava sín uppruna í miðøld, har tað ofta vóru átrúnarligar pallsetingar.

Undir framførsluni av einum tableau vivant skuldu luttakararnir ímynda persónar úr bókmentum, myndlist, søgu ella gerandislívi. Tá tjaldið fór frá, stóðu leikararnir frystir í eina ávísa tíð. Pallsetingin hevði stóran týdning, uppstilling, búnar, sminka, ljós og andlitsbragd. Onkuntíð var yrking lisin ella tónleikur spældur á pallinum og ofta var stór ramma sett um pallin, so tað var greiðari, at hetta skuldi ímynda eina málaða mynd.

Tá fotografiið varð uppfunnið, nýttu fotografar eisini hesi tableaux vivant, og nógvir fotografar arbeiði við tí slíkum.

Tableaux vivant are a kind of performance art which was performed mostly in the 19th century, until moving pictures became common. Tableaux vivant originated in the Middle Age at what time they were often religious spectacles.

During the performance of a tableau vivant the audience was intended to imagine characters from literature, figurative art, history or everyday life. When the scene opened the actors stood frozen in their positions for a while. The scenography was greatly important: positioning, costumes, makeup, lighting and mimicry. Sometimes a poem was read out or music played on stage and often a large frame was built around the stage to make it clear that this was supposed to present itself as a painting.

When photography had been invented, photographers as well used the concept of tableaux vivant.

Tableaux vivant hava altíð havt mín áhuga, og var rættiliga fegin, tá eg fann uppá hvussu eg kundi gera míni egnu tableaux vivant, (tó kortini ikki eru heilt vivant). Eg geri pallsetingar í eini rammu, smáar standmyndir, har figurarnir eru frystir í eini ávísari rørslu. Onkrar hava innbygdan tónleik og ljós. Sum í einum sjónleiki ella aðrari sýning, fylgir ongin frágreiðing við. Søgan er tann, TÚ heldur er søgd her.

I have always been interested in tableaux vivant and was happy when I came upon this idea of creating my own tableaux vivant (though they are not completely vivant). I make miniature stage art in shallow boxes, small installations where figures a frozen in certain positions. Some tableaux have built-in music and lights. As in an on-stage play og any other performance, no explanation is given. The story is as YOU conceive it to be.
