Letland 7. dagur – Riga / Latvia 7th Day – Riga

So nærkast ferðin sínum enda.

Her var “Hon, sum róði eftir ælaboganum” samrøðuevni. Tey ungu høvdu lisið brot úr skaldsøguni og ein samandrátt. Nógvir áhugaverdir spurningar vóru settir, eisini um Føroyar og føroyska mentan.

Seinnapartin tók Sanita meg við á sightseeing í Riga, serliga hugdu vit at øllum teimum hugtakandi vøkru Art Nouveau-bygningunum, sum eru har.

The journey is now coming to an end. In the morning, we first had a monster workshop in a school with very big classes. 28 children made monsters at the same time, but it went very well anyway. Obviously this was a school, who appreciated the children’s artistic skills.

The second visit was at a large school where they also had high school. We visited those who had Danish and Norwegian as  optional subjects. The theme for the lesson was “She rowed after the rainbow”. The young people had read the excerpts and resume of the novel. Many interesting questions were asked about the book and about the Faroe Islands and Faroese culture.

In the afternoon, Sanita took me to sightseeing in Riga, where we saw all the fascinating Art Nouveau buildings.
